One Week in Hawaii (Praises and Prayer Requests)

18 03 2012

Our whirlwind adventure is still on-going, but Papa has given us some answers to prayer. We were greeted by the pastor, Shannon Carrier, and his wife, Michelle when our plane landed.  Michelle greeted us with a leis and hugs.  Shannon came later and helped us load all our belongings into our rental minivan.

After a quick trip to Wal-mart, we proceeded to our new home in the Maui up-country town of Pukalani.  God has given us a beautiful home, and has provided us with more than space than we could ever expect.  Our landlords, Mitch and Robinette, are super cool and very relaxed.  They gave us some furnishings to use (since we only had 15 bags and a car seat when we arrived) and some food in our fridge and pantry.  Papa God has been good to us.

This week we have been searching for the rest of our stuff for our home including bedroom, livingroom, and dining room furniture.  We started with a bed frame, a sleeper sofa, office table, some tv trays, and a china set (also thanks to our landlords).  We have some stuff, but the hunt continues for the rest.  Please pray we find the rest of our furnishings as cheap as possible. I am still looking for employment.  I have applied for two jobs, one as a bus driver for a tour company, and another as a classroom teacher for a christian school (Starting in July).

We have been to a Friday night worhsip and a Sunday service at AMP Church, and we have met most of the folks there.  Everyone has been so kind and welcoming.  I don’t know if I should “technically” say so, but the people there have lots of Aloha.  I was blessed by the sermon, and the teaching was tremendous.

It has been an eventful first week, and we are looking forward as many as the LORD allows here.  Blessings, Greg
