Day 23 Journal

14 05 2013

Dear Jesus,

I pray for all who visit the islands of Hawaii to treat the land and people with respect and dignity.  It is easy to think that we are owed something because we spend valuable resources for different services, and while that is true, the people who provide those services are human beings who deserve our respect.  I ask you, Jesus, to remind me that we all need dignity, respect, and thoughtfulness.  I thank you for the visitors to the Islands who do respect the  people and the land.  I pray for lokahi (peace) between You (‘Io), man (kane) and the land (aina), and ask for humility (ha’aha’a) when any of those relationships has been wronged and needs to be righted.

In Your Name, AMEN!
